CORONAVIRUS DELIVERY SAFETY PROTOCOL
Many people are wondering if it is safe to receive and handle a delivery during this time. The World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have stated that the likelihood of catching the COVID-19 virus by touching cardboard or another shipping container is low.
Kikoko and our delivery partner are following the guidance of global health experts at the WHO and CDC on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We have a skeleton staff in the facility and we never have more than one driver picking up at a time. Both Kikoko staff and our delivery partners’ employees are packing, driving and delivering in sterile gloves, and they change these gloves frequently. They are required to thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival to work and before putting on and after taking off their gloves. We are also regularly cleaning and disinfecting our facilities and equipment and our team members are kept 6 feet apart at all times with no physical contact.
However, we do suggest that if you are concerned, wear gloves or put on hand sanitizer before opening your package and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Then dispose of the exterior packaging immediately. The actual Kikoko packaging has never been handled without rubber gloves, according to food safety laws.
